Boy, can Mark Anthony sing beautifully. Close your eyes and you are in the room with the late great Nat King Cole!
We were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of hosting Mark Anthony and his NKC band as they presented a delightful afternoon of entertainment on Sunday 28th September.
Mark's Unforgettable tribute to Nat King Cole is superb and his songs supported by his 4 talented instrumentalists recreated the unmistakably magic mood of the Cotton Club in the 1950s.
Mark skilfully narrated Nat's life story in between the songs. It was quite right that Mark covered the period when Nat suffered unspeakably vile acts of racism. Nat, in his gentle and dignified way, chose not to rise to this ugly side of humanity, much to his credit.
It was thrilling to hear the lovely Debbie Lambert sing a couple of numbers as Mark's guest singer for his show. The afternoon wound its way gently to a conclusion with Let there be Love - a great ending to a wonderful day's entertainment. As Mark put it so succinctly, we have sadly lost Nat but we have not lost his legacy of beautiful songs.
Great thanks to Mark Anthony and his band for a truly epic afternoon at Beccles Public Hall - the beaming audience left with nothing but praise for Mark and his band.

"Whenever Mark Anthony performs at The Waveney House Hotel we
can always expect a very good response and a packed out evening.
He puts on a great show and is very popular, proven by ticket
sales at large events. Mark has performed at the Hotel both as a
Solo act in our Bar area/ terrace, and with the Funky Stuff Band
on a much larger scale, and all performances have been
fantastic. Mark has also put on events at the Hotel in aid of
charity. He offers a night of great music and knows how to get
the crowd going. When Mark plays the distinctive Bongo Drums it
adds an extra element to his performances making him different
from other singers. A highly recommended singer if you want an
exciting evening of entertainment."

"We had heard Mark perform on several occasions and were delighted when he agreed to sing at our wedding reception last year. We were not disappointed! Everyone had a great time and Mark provided all round entertainment to suit all ages. As well as being an excellent singer and musician, Mark is a real entertainer, building a rapport with his audience that encourages everyone to get up and boogy! Great fun, great music and great value for money. What else could you ask for? Thank you Mark for making our special day even more special!"

"Mark has played in our Irish Bar – O’Malley’s in Niederau, Austria for a number of years – travelling out to play for a couple of weeks two or three times each winter. His music, singing and especially his interaction with the guests in the bar is fantastic. As importantly for us has been the professional approach that Mark brings to his shows – always on time, always prepared and always happy to be flexible. We’d welcome him back at any time!"

"Mark Anthony came to this theatre for the first time with The Nat King Cole Story. What a night - Standing Ovation well deserved and demands for him to return."
